Plantskolan i Ängelholm AB

One of Sweden's leading plant suppliers

OWN GROWTH YIELDS 170,000 FRUIT TREES PER YEAR

The company was founded in 1938 as a small nursery by Carsten Pettersson. When Kjell-Ove and Maj-Inger Johansson took over in 1968, they expanded the area, range of plants, and facilities. Growing ornamental shrubs in pots was added as a complement to the then-dominant open-field cultivation. Their son, Jan-Peter Johansson, took over in 1998 and expanded the business further. Today, Plantskolan i Ängelholm AB is one of Sweden’s leading plant suppliers. Across eight hectares of container growing and 25 hectares of open fields, they cultivate their own fruit trees, berry bushes, ornamental trees, shrubs, and avenue trees.

“We grow over 150 different varieties of fruit trees, resulting in around 170,000 fruit trees per year. High-quality growing substrate is essential to our entire operation. With Bara Clay, we get the right nutrient buffer in the soil, making it easier to water and helping the soil retain moisture better,” explains Johan Emilsson, the site manager.
